This place is Awsome.. we took the whole family and i dont know how but the put up with all 8 of us lol. The staff was beyond friendly. The food was really good. Need i say more.....
Great food. Best kept secret on Smith Mountain Lake.
We tried to come here twice -- once on a Sunday evening and once on a Thursday evening at 7pm in August. Both times we got here the doors were locked! The first time, a waitress came out and said they ran out of food. Second time, no one was around even though the posted hours said opens at 3 pm. There was trash all over the front deck when I walked around the back to see if maybe they just forgot to unlock the door. Don't waste the 15 minute drive!
This place was weird. Visited memorial day weekend. Waited an hour for food and asked if it was ready, they then asked what we ordered. We decided to go ahead and leave. It was dirty, overpriced, and scary.
Staff friendly, limited menu but good. Prices are reasonable. Worth the trip by boat or car. Only open 3 days a week.
It's a nice little pub child and pet friendly
Love the atmosphere, small place, but good drinks, food. Will definitely return
Goooood shakes
Staff and owner 5 stars. Great fun. Will visit next time we are at SML.
Great pub food and beers with outdoor seating at the lake.
We have been going to Kings Point Pub for many years and we have never been disappointed. Staff is so friendly and the food is fabulous after a day on the lake. Go early so you get a seat if you have a crowd. Even their customers are jovial - we had a party of 3 and would have needed to wait to get our own table when a customer volunteered to let us sit with him. Live entertainment is always a good time.
good but kind of pricey
I dont go there
The place should just close. No service no drinks and place was a mess.
Was one of our favorite places over the years. Now one of the worst places been in a while. Poor service, drinks came 30 minutes late and the food was slow and poor quality. Will not return.
great atmosphere, nice & friendly service!
Stopped by on a Friday evening (8-19-16) around 6:30 - 7:00 pm. Place was not crowded at the time and was able to accommodate our large group of 11 people. This is a very small place so it could very easily be crowded on any given day. Recommend calling ahead to find out what the crowd is like. The food was decent and the beer selection isn't too bad for the small location that it is. Unfortunately most of the craft beer selection was not available and I found that a bit disappointing. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food with the exception that some of the dishes (cottage pie and Guiness pie) were a tad bit too salty. The Guiness pie was also missing the pastry part of the dish as they were out of that ingredient. Crab bites were good.As a pub this place serves its purpose. Good place to hang out after being on the lake. I believe that any shortcomings in the menu can be overcome by providing a good craft beer selection AND having those selections always available.
Not the place it was
Atmosphere awesome, very cold beer, authentic Irish food as well as some American favorites. My favorite place on SML
Great Irish food & wonderful beer selection:)
Out of business
Good beer, friendly bartender, and cool interior
Cool place to hang out
Food was good. Atmosphere was great. Staff and owner were beyond friendly. Cannot wait to go back.
Can't wait to go back!
Food and atmosphere same as last year
Fair
If you’re looking for fine dining and impeccable service, this isn’t the place to go. But if you want cold beer, great “bar” food then this is the place to go and the live music on the weekends makes it the best bar on the lake.
Not what you expect. A unique experience for a cold one!
Cold beer, quick friendly service, love love love it
Used to be one of our fave local spots for food and friendly service. Service was good still but food was sub par...burnt chicken pot pie shell, no Guiness pie so we went with fish and chips (yuck. .. soaking in grease....) make sure you're bathed in mosquito repellent if you sit outside...still everyone was ate up...
If they were open I could give a real rating we shall see it was decent 4 star atleast
Good fish and chips with malt vinegar, fast service and very entertaining band, happy atmosphere
Thank God the live music is back!!!
Maybe I came on a bad day? I try to be nice and I am not exaggerating when I say my waiter was just the worst, they were literally out of 70% of the options on the menu, there's nothing really Irish about it, and the food we did get was...out of a box or a can. All in all, yes it's close to the lake but come here for just the drinks.
Food is good. Staff is friendly. Live local entertainment on weekends is fun. Can't wait to go back, visit friends, have a Smithwicks and listen to Tom & Dave. I recommend.
